Distance
How swift is distance?
So agile,
How it extends farther than any limb could ever reach,
How it grows
And molds itself inside my mind,
Like a cyst
Propagating in my cells
As it continues to absorb me,
Until memory in its flaws succeed,
To blur the lines,
The images,
Like a fog abstracting shapes,
Obscuring lights into pretty dandelions,
To no longer know what lies beneath,
To have time cover it,
Like the residue on a chapel ceiling,
Who knows what frescos
Looked like really?
As moments elapse themselves on top of each other,
What we remember,
Is it real?
How much can we restore in just what we feel?
Well you, you are distance,
And I am all the space b e t w e e n.
